Volunteer Spotlight — Lt. Nate Lasseur

Please help us Welcome Lt. Lasseur to the IFRM’s Fire Board, Nate will fill the role of Planning Chief for the next 3years.

Nate Lasseur is a 17 year veteran with West Palm Beach Fire Rescue in Florida and currently holds the position of Operations Lieutenant. Lasseur currently holds Florida Certifications as a Paramedic, Fire Service Instructor II, Fire Officer I and an EMS degree from Palm Beach State College.

Lasseur is also founder and president of International Firefighters Assistance, Inc. (www.IFArelief.org), a nonprofit organization that provides support and training to firefighters in underprivileged country. After the tremendous earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010, Lasseur along with other American firefighters were on the ground within 48 hours of the incident and were instrumental in rescuing many victims from the rubble.

Lasseur has received numerous awards and recognitions for his community service work and volunteer involvement. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer Award by Florida International Volunteer Corp., Firefighter of the Year Awards by West Palm Beach Rotary Club, Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce and the City of West Palm Beach, 2011 African American Achievers Award and 2013 Blue Dove Award for Community Service. Lasseur was recently honored by the NFL Florida Panthers Hockey Team for his humanitarian efforts.   

Nate and his wife, Gina have two daughters, Nikki and Dominique. They are very active in their church and other community outreached projects. Nate enjoys music, arts, biking, basketball and spending time with his family and friends.
