Volunteer Spotlight - Craig Haslam

Please help us welcome Fire Chief Craig Haslam who responded to the IFRM’s need for an Advisory Board Member. We are very thankful for the many strengths he brings to our TEAM..


Craig Haslam is the District Fire Chief for Fremont County Fire Protection District in Fremont County Wyoming. He also serves as the Fremont County Fire Warden. He has been with the District for 31 years, 17 as an employee.


Craig holds Wyoming Certifications as Fire Officer III, Fire Service Instructor II; he also holds several NWCG Wildland certifications including Type III Incident Commander, Division Supervisor, Strike Team and Task Force Leader. He has fought Wildland fires from coast to coast in Florida, California and many points in between. Craig is very involved in the fire service; he is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, NFPA, Wyoming Fire Chief’s Association (currently serving as First Vice President), Wyoming Rural Firefighter’s Association, and Wyoming Fireman’s Association. Craig has been the recipient of several awards including the USFS Regional Partnership of the Year. Chief Haslam teaches courses at the Wyoming Fire Academy. He is involved in the community delivering fire prevention and safety information to different groups, organizations, and schools.


Craig and his wife Christine have 4 children and 3 grandchildren; they also have had several foster children. They are very involved in their church and family. Craig enjoys the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family.
